Everlog 2.8 is here, and it brings one of our most requested features: inline attachments.
What are inline attachments?
Until now, photos, videos, and other media lived in a separate panel below your text. With inline attachments, you can place them exactly where they belong — right inside your entry, between paragraphs, alongside the words that give them context.
What you can place inline
- Photos — drop them right into your text
- Videos — embed video clips between paragraphs
- Audio recordings — voice notes and recordings, inline
- Sketches — draw directly inside your entries (new in 2.8!)
- PDFs — reference documents right where you mention them
How it works
When you add an attachment, you now get to choose: place it inline (in your text) or in the panel (the attachment area below). You can set your default preference in Settings, and change it per attachment anytime.

- Sketches: Draw your ideas directly in entries with customizable grids
- Colored highlights: Highlight text in multiple colors from the Everlog palette
- Copy & paste attachments: Move attachments between entries
- Search highlighting: Search terms are highlighted when viewing entries
- Smart reminders: Daily writing reminders are skipped when you’ve met your goal
